I am a wine dork. When I am working, and have exhausted all of my good material trying to get the Tuna sandwich-splitting-water-drinkers to consider a Vermentino "to go with that", I just give them the, "I've consumed quite a bit of the wine on that list", and hope for the best. It actually couldn't be truer. I have consumed quite a bit of wine on our list. I drink, I take outlandish notes, and I take pictures of the labels. I get excited. My guests sense my excitement. They feel guilty when they just want tap water. They still want to talk to me about wine, though. If I get someone to consider Viognier over Chardonnay for future reference, I feel that I've accomplished something. Karen MacNeil, author of The Wine Bible, says that "the best way to learn nothing about wine is to only drink what you like". My goal is to expand horizons, and perhaps entertain with my adventures in wine dorkdom. Bear in mind, I'm no sommelier. Not yet, anyway. I'm just a nerdy girl who worships Dionysus like the rock star he is.

YOu go girl! Tell them about it!
